Cable's Riding Stables

 

Cable's Riding Stable is located about 10 miles from Natural Bridge State Park. The trail rides are a guided one-hour tour, on an old dirt road. The scenery is breathtaking year-round. Cable's Riding Stable is family-owned and operated, and fun for all ages.

Muir Valley is a nonprofit rock climbing and nature preserve in the Red River Gorge of Kentucky. The Valley is approximately 360 acres in size and walled in by over seven miles of majestic cliffs of hard Corbin Sandstone that range in height from 20 feet to over 200 feet. Over 400 climbs – both trad and sport – provide a spectacular experience to visitors from all over the world. Waterfalls, caves, and mountain streams add to the natural beauty. Mountain laurel, rhododendron, and many other species of wildflowers and plants grace the valley floor and hillsides.

Graining Fork Nature Preserve (GFNP) is an education, conservation, and recreation non-profit organization established to protect the natural, scenic and cultural resources of the area, and to encourage the public enjoyment of those resources.  The GFNP was established to protect and preserve the natural environment.  Public access is allowed but regulated by a permit system to protect the natural integrity of the preserve so that it may be enjoyed by those that follow.   The area is monitored to help protect it and it’s mission.  A separate permit is required for each person,  each day they enter the preserve.

Our guides don't just lead you through the woods, while on trail you will learn random facts about the trees, flora, rock formations, insects, fungi, animals and many other 'features' you will see, smell or touch along the way. Stories will be told about the history of the trail and guides will also discuss why it is important to TAKE ONLY PHOTOS AND LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS.

If you want to see the towering sandstone cliffs that made the Red River Gorge famous, look no farther than Natural Bridge State Park's Mill Creek Lake.
