Muir Valley is a nonprofit rock climbing and nature preserve in the Red River Gorge of Kentucky. The Valley is approximately 360 acres in size and walled in by over seven miles of majestic cliffs of hard Corbin Sandstone that range in height from 20 feet to over 200 feet. Graining Fork Nature Preserve (GFNP) is an education, conservation, and recreation non-profit organization established to protect the natural, scenic and cultural resources of the area, and to encourage the public enjoyment of those resources.  The GFNP was established to protect and preserve the natural environment.  Public access is allowed but regulated by a permit system to protect the natural integrity of the preserve so that it may be enjoyed by those that follow.   The area is monitored to help protect it and it’s mission.  A separate permit is required for each person,  each day they enter the preserve.

Located not far from downtown Campton, Wolfe lake is open for paddling, nature watching, and picinicking. 

If you want to see the towering sandstone cliffs that made the Red River Gorge famous, look no farther than Natural Bridge State Park's Mill Creek Lake. This lake is best explored by canoe where you can paddle in a peaceful, forested setting and get up close to the cliffs and rock formations. Bring along your tackle and bait. Folks report catching bluegill, trout, bass, crappie, and more.
